1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of VidReviews.co.uk, including our local Plumbers in Barnet website and related services (“the Website”).

By accessing or using the Website, creating an account, submitting a review, claiming a business profile, purchasing a service or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Website.

3. What VidReviews Does

VidReviews provides an online platform through which users may discover local plumbers, view business information, watch customer video reviews, submit reviews and, where available, contact plumbers or request quotations.

Plumbers and plumbing businesses may also be able to claim business profiles and purchase memberships, advertising, featured placement or other promotional services.

We provide the platform.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not a plumbing company, plumbing contractor, employment agency or representative of the plumbers listed on the Website.

4. We Do Not Recommend or Guarantee Plumbers

A plumber’s presence on the Website does not mean that we recommend, endorse, approve or guarantee that plumber.

Ratings, reviews and videos generally represent the opinions and experiences of the users who submitted them.

You are responsible for deciding whether a particular plumber is suitable for your requirements.

Before engaging a plumber, you should carry out any checks you consider appropriate, including checking qualifications, insurance, experience, references, prices and any registrations or licences relevant to the particular work.

Where gas work is involved, users should make appropriate checks that the person undertaking regulated gas work is properly registered where required by law.

5. Business Information

We aim to provide useful information about local plumbers and plumbing businesses.

Business information may be supplied by businesses themselves, users or lawful publicly available sources.

We cannot guarantee that every business profile is complete, accurate or up to date.

Businesses may contact us to request corrections or, where available, claim their business profile.

6. Customer Reviews

Users may be permitted to submit video reviews, written reviews, ratings, photographs or other content relating to their experience with a plumber.

By submitting a review, you confirm that:

• you are submitting information about a genuine experience;
• your review reflects your honestly held opinion;
• the factual statements you make are accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• you are not impersonating another person;
• you have not fabricated the experience;
• you will not deliberately submit misleading information;
• you will disclose any material relationship with the business where appropriate;
• you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the content; and
• your submission complies with these Terms.

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

7. Video Reviews

Video reviews are an important feature of VidReviews.

When submitting a video, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload and allow us to display the video.

You must not upload a video containing another identifiable person without appropriate authority or permission where this is required.

You should avoid showing:

• children without appropriate authority;
• private conversations;
• private correspondence;
• bank or payment details;
• passwords;
• private addresses where unnecessary;
• vehicle registration information where unnecessary;
• confidential documents;
• another person’s personal information; or
• other information that should reasonably remain private.

You should focus your video review on your own experience of the plumbing service.

8. Prohibited Review Content

You must not submit content that:

• you know is false or materially misleading;
• relates to an experience that did not happen;
• impersonates another person;
• is threatening or unlawfully harassing;
• unlawfully discriminates against another person;
• contains unlawful defamatory material;
• infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual-property rights;
• unlawfully discloses confidential or private information;
• contains malware, malicious links or harmful code;
• promotes unlawful activity;
• contains spam or irrelevant advertising;
• is sexually explicit or otherwise unlawful;
• is submitted in return for an undisclosed payment, reward or benefit where disclosure is required;
• attempts to manipulate a business’s rating dishonestly; or
• otherwise breaches applicable law or these Terms.

Reviews should focus on relevant first-hand experiences rather than unrelated personal attacks.

9. Positive and Negative Reviews

We permit both positive and negative reviews, provided they comply with these Terms.

Businesses cannot purchase a better review score.

Purchasing a membership, advertising package, featured position or other paid service does not give a business the right to remove legitimate negative reviews.

We may, however, investigate any review reported as potentially false, unlawful or contrary to these Terms.

10. Moderation

We may moderate content submitted to the Website.

We reserve the right to approve, reject, temporarily hide, restrict, investigate or remove content where we reasonably consider this appropriate, including where content may:

• breach these Terms;
• violate applicable law;
• infringe another person’s rights;
• present privacy or safety concerns;
• be fraudulent or misleading;
• be spam;
• relate to the wrong business;
• require further verification; or
• expose the Website or another person to unreasonable legal or security risk.

Moderation does not mean that we endorse or guarantee the accuracy of content that remains published.

We are not obliged to pre-screen every submission before publication unless required by law.

11. Review Verification

We may take reasonable steps to assess a review’s authenticity.

This may include requesting information showing that the reviewer had a genuine customer experience.

However, unless a review or process is expressly described as verified, users should not assume that we have independently verified every statement made in every review.

Even where we conduct verification checks, we cannot guarantee the truth or accuracy of every statement made by a reviewer.

12. Business Right to Respond

Where functionality is available, businesses may be permitted to respond to reviews concerning them.

Business responses must comply with these Terms.

A business must not threaten, intimidate or unlawfully pressure a reviewer to remove or change a genuine review.

Responses should remain professional and relevant to the customer’s experience.

13. Reporting or Disputing a Review

If you believe a review is false, unlawful, defamatory, infringes your rights, relates to the wrong business or otherwise breaches these Terms, you may report it to us.

14. Claiming a Business Profile

A plumber or authorised business representative may be able to claim a business profile.

By submitting a claim, you confirm that:

• you are the business owner or are authorised to act for the business;
• the information supplied is accurate; and
• any verification documents or information supplied are genuine.

We may request reasonable evidence to verify your authority.

Submitting a claim does not guarantee acceptance.

We may reject, suspend or reverse a claim if we reasonably believe that the claimant is not authorised to control the profile.

15. Claimed Profiles

Claiming a profile may allow a business to manage certain information about its listing.

Claiming a profile does not give the business ownership or editorial control over customer reviews.

Businesses may not alter customer ratings or reviews simply because they disagree with them.

16. Paid Memberships and Services

We may offer paid services to plumbers and businesses.

These may include:

• enhanced business profiles;
• membership packages;
• additional photographs or videos;
• website and contact links;
• quote or enquiry functionality;
• featured listings;
• sponsored positions;
• advertising;
• analytics; and
• other promotional services.

The features and price of each service will be displayed at the time of purchase.

We may change the features or prices of future purchases from time to time.

Any change affecting an existing recurring subscription will be handled in accordance with the applicable contract terms and law.

17. Featured and Sponsored Businesses

Businesses may be able to pay for increased visibility.

Where appropriate, paid placements may be identified using wording such as:

Featured, Sponsored, Promoted or similar wording.

Payment for increased visibility does not influence the business’s underlying customer rating.

Featured status should not be interpreted as an endorsement or guarantee by VidReviews.

18. Payments and Subscriptions

Where a paid service is purchased, you agree to pay the price shown at checkout.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

If you purchase a recurring subscription, payments may continue at the agreed billing interval until the subscription is cancelled in accordance with the applicable cancellation arrangements.

Additional payment, cancellation and renewal information may be displayed during checkout or within your account.

19. Quote Requests and Customer Enquiries

The Website may allow users to contact plumbers or submit requests for quotations.

Where you submit an enquiry, you authorise us to provide the information necessary to the relevant plumber or participating business as explained when you submit the enquiry.

VidReviews is not normally a party to any subsequent contract between you and a plumber.

Any quotation, price, appointment, scope of work, payment terms, guarantee or other agreement concerning plumbing work is normally agreed directly between the customer and plumber.

20. Disputes Between Customers and Plumbers

We are not responsible for carrying out plumbing work and do not normally become a party to contracts between customers and plumbers.

Any dispute concerning workmanship, payment, delays, damage, warranties, guarantees or other matters relating to plumbing services should generally be addressed between the customer and the plumber concerned.

We may provide reasonable platform-related assistance where appropriate, but we are not required to mediate private contractual disputes.

Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from exercising any legal rights available to them.

21. Intellectual Property in User Content

You retain ownership of intellectual-property rights you hold in content you submit.

However, by submitting content for publication, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, format, adapt for technical purposes and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote and provide the VidReviews service.

This licence includes displaying submitted reviews on relevant business profiles and elsewhere within the VidReviews network.

Where legally permissible, it also allows us to create reasonable previews, thumbnails or extracts for promoting the relevant review or the Website.

You confirm that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence.

22. VidReviews Intellectual Property

The VidReviews name, branding, website design, software, graphics, logos and original website content may be protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual-property rights.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit our protected material without permission except where permitted by law.

23. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.

You must provide accurate information and must not create an account using another person’s identity without authority.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account where reasonably attributable to your use or failure to keep credentials secure.

Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

24. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account or access to particular features where we reasonably believe that:

• these Terms have been materially or repeatedly breached;
• the account is being used fraudulently;
• the account creates a security risk;
• the user is attempting to manipulate reviews;
• payment obligations have not been met;
• the user is abusing other users or businesses; or

25. Availability of the Website

We aim to keep the Website available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Subject to applicable law, we are responsible for the services that we ourselves provide, but we are not responsible for plumbing services provided independently by plumbers listed on the Website.

We do not guarantee that information supplied by users or independent businesses is complete, accurate or suitable for your particular requirements.

Users should exercise reasonable judgement and conduct appropriate checks before hiring a plumber.

Where you use the Website as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

29. Changes to These Terms
